Beach Hotel Map – Build History (6/7)

In this phase there was a megaton of work done on the hotel. The Central Leisure Floors, VIP mega hotel suites, and a quarter of the Upper Leisure Floors were built. On top of that, the rail network was extended, with minor tweaks to the rail tunnels and crossing highway A14.

Temporarily Missed The Hotel

In early 2022, a build detour was made, and work was temporarily moved back to the hotel. A lot of wasted space took place in the halls and such that could be used instead to hold more rooms, so some rooms ended up being rearranged, thus adding another 1 to 3 rooms to each floor.

Aside from the room rearrangements, the hallways passing by the rooms were also renovated, now having green-colored floors and various furniture along the walls, much better than the solo paintings that used to exist.

  • Open area after cutting out rooms to be shifted towards elevators, thus getting rid of unnecessary hallway.

Work on the train station resumed in April 2022, and the interior part was completed within a month. From there, the outdoor area was built and completed in July 2022.

  • Areas for the quick shop and help desk being built.

Town Highway Renovations

Upon fully finishing the train station, the highway cutting through the town went through some redesigns. The first plan was to construct a connecting road that links the Palm Square area to the roads on the other side of the highway, done by building a bridge for the highway, with the crossing road below it.

Next up was rebuilding the highway exit just south of the neighboring river. The plan was to make the highway go under the crossing road and have the road cross without any slopes (unlike before).

This redesign also made it possible to extend the highway tunnel under the river to the overlying road crossing, thus leaving more room for building in the neighborhood where Musco’s home lies.

  • Start of construction of road crossing in southern town area.

Central Leisure Floors of Hotel (Beginning)

Work has finally arrived for the hotel’s central leisure floors. Plans on what to build in them and where took quite a while to lay out, but made the construction easier than what it would have been without.

The first constructed area was each floor’s public restrooms. Originally placed on the land side, they eventually were moved to the seaside, next to the Part 2 elevator area.

From there, the food court was built on both floors, taking the original place of the restrooms. Each floor has its own unique set of food stalls. Afterward, distinct areas were allocated for the theater, central restaurant, library, and library cafe on both floors.

  • Early layout design of restrooms, in original location.

The first to be constructed was the theater. It was quite a challenge, as making its interior red walls blend with the rest of the hotel required good creative innovation. But in the end, it worked out!

Next up was Royal Latino’s Restaurant, a 2-floor restaurant with a bar and dance stage on both floors. It even was given outdoor seating, as part of the balconies that surround these two floors.

  • First design of cinema room. Originally a hallway would also exist on 2nd floor, which eventually was phased out.

Upon completing the restaurant, the library was built. Each floor was given its distinct design but had quite a bit of similarity. Each also had distinct conference & study rooms and seating along the balconies.

The connected library cafes were then built, one on each floor. A staircase connects the two, and each has slight variances in its design, but mostly the same.

  • Early design stage of library. Allocating space for each floor and for stairs.

A Detour To The Rail World

In August 2022, work temporarily moved back to the rails, specifically in the underground area just north of the station. A new rail line was added, going from Highway A3 (running east from the town), so a tunnel was made for it. It later splits into two tunnels that merge with the existing line to allow travel in both directions.

Upon completion, a slight renovation was carried out in the train station’s rail platform area. Specifically, vine vegetation, trapdoor decorations, and water columns were added onto the walls to cover the originally bare sandstone walls.

  • Merging road of one of platforms got moved due to heavy curve being originally present.

Back To The Hotel Center

It was time to finally finish the Central Leisure floors, starting with the Game Room and Daycare Center, with the former stacked on top of the latter.

  • View of empty spot reserved for Daycare Center and Game Room.

And finally, the mall area was built. The supermarket, clothing, and misc. Item shops were fully built, along with the public hallways and seating!

  • Inital layout planning of mall area.

More Terraforming & Polishing

With the Central Leisure floors complete, it was time to fix the jagged coastlines that existed for the longest time. Most of the southern coastline was shaped manually, but the rest was shaped using WorldPainter, which was very helpful!

  • Initial shaping of coastline south of town area.

After shaping up the coastline, more of the neighboring desert areas were transformed into plains to improve the town scenery. The crossing highway A3 was also tweaked, along with minor touches for the hotel.

  • After replacing much of dessert area east/north of town, now changing biome to Plains to remove "dead" grass color.

More Home Work

After working hard with the hotel throughout the year, it was time to take a break and build another house. Specifically, the area between the hotel grounds and the east-west stretch of road C3, since filling this would make the entire area between this road and the north of the hotel fully occupied!

Here the Dark Woods House was built, being the first in this space. It has a somewhat different design than the rest of this map’s houses, mixing modern box-like design and forest-oriented colors.

  • Initial home designing.

Stacking Up The Hotel

Towards the end of 2022, with another house down and only a few floors left on the hotel, it was time to give the building another stretch. The Part 2 side’s lower floor of the Upper Leisure floors was built first since it was the smallest and, therefore, the easiest to brainstorm.

Construction started with adding two cafes, remarkably similar to the ones on the Central Leisure floors. Then, the Fitness Center and its neighboring rooms, along with the neighboring restrooms/showers, were built.

  • Copy-paste of cafes from Central Leisure floors.

With the lowest floor complete, it was time to stack up. Now we have the Adult Pool Area, O’Casey’s bar, and lower floor of Romio’s Fine Dining restaurant being built.

  • Initial construction of O'Casey's Bar.

To close the year, the upper floor of Romio’s Fine Dining was built, along with the North Side Terrace area, sitting on top of the Adult Pool Area, and finally, the Sky Hangouts room, marking the completion of the Part 2 side of the Upper Leisure floors!

  • Now adding the amenities for the upper floor of Romio's Fine Dining.
